The William M. Cottrell Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship will be provided to assist with tuition and mandatory fees for students enrolled as full-time students at a four (4) year college, community college or trade school.

Past experience indicates that applicants are highly qualified in both their academic achievement as well as community service. Grade point averages of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale are expected.

Joppa offers scholarships to 2 high school seniors each year.

Scholarship Eligibility

Open only to the dependents of Master Masons in good standing who are members of a Lodge Holden under the Grand Lodge of Virginia and in districts 15 A, B, or C.

Members of DeMolay, Job’s Daughters or Rainbow Girls are also eligible.

A Scholarship Application Must Include

• A Completed and SIGNED Application Packet for “The William M. Cottrell Memorial Scholarship”
• A current sealed official transcript
  • indicate that one will be sent by the school to the Lodge secretary.
• A copy of their acceptance letter from the college, university, or technical school.
• A copy of their state issued photo ID.

All Applications need to be submitted by April 15.
